Partners Kevin Hudson and David Amar founded fanfare projects to assist foreign performers and their staff with the stressful and bureaucratic process of securing US visas.
We are a small operation focusing on a modest roster of clients who we believe in, building long term relationships that sustain beyond the border and passport control.
We are flexible and attuned to touring artists’ needs and the complexities of the US visa process, with a commitment to promoting artists to whom American audiences do not normally have access.
Kevin Hudson is the Founder and Managing Director of Fanfare Projects. He specializes in securing U.S. work visas for a diverse range of artists, from recent graduates to Grammy-nominated stars, with a special interest in electronic, alternative, and jazz artists and authors of literary fiction.
Before founding Fanfare Projects, Kevin worked in film and television production, contributing to projects for PBS and Showtime and to independent films featured at major North American and European festivals. This experience in managing intricate film projects provided him with the skills essential for handling the detailed and often challenging visa process for international artists and their teams.
Kevin represents Fanfare Projects at global arts industry events and showcases, including WOMEX and The Great Escape. Originally from Baltimore, Kevin lives in Philadelphia and holds a degree in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania.
David Amar is the Founder and General Counsel of Fanfare Projects. He has arranged O and P visas for over 7,000 creative workers, focusing on musicians and on Canadians facing visa issues.
A Canadian citizen with a background as a trumpet player, drummer, and arranger (and a few stints as a professional chef), David has worked at immigration and entertainment law firms and advised a range of clients, from independent musicians to major media companies, on immigration, entertainment, and transactional law issues.
David has presented at industry events such as Mondo Music, BreakOut West (CA), the NYC Bar Association, Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts NY, Ableton: Loop (Los Angeles), and several festivals across the US, Canada, South Africa, and Uganda. He has also served as a judge for the Western Canadian Music Awards. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, David lives in Brooklyn, holds degrees from the University of Toronto and from Brooklyn Law School, is an attorney admitted to the New York Bar and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
